Driving directions to Las Vegas from California
If you're going on a weekend, know that there will almost always be traffic. the trip is about 300 miles. Even with traffic, one can drive to Las Vegas from Los Angeles in about 5 hours. Holiday weekend traffic can make the trip as long as 11 hours to come back home. Most visitors leave L.A. between Friday morning and very late Friday night, but everyone heads back to L.A. between noon and 8 p.m. on Sunday. The trip to L.A. is almost always slower than the trip to Vegas. If you can take Monday off and travel then, you'll be traffic free.

From Los Angeles take the I-10 (east) or the 60 (east) to the 15 or 215 and go north towards Barstow.
From North LA County & Burbank/Pasadena take the 210 (east) around to the 10 (east) to the 215 (north)
From Orange County take the 91 (east) to the 215 and go north or
the 57 (north) to the 10 (east) to the 215 and go north.
