Reno is a fun tourist destination and many people even prefer it to Las Vegas. It has a much more relaxed environment while still offering plenty of gambling excitement. Hotel rates are just a fraction of the cost of your typical Vegas hotel and it offers things you can’t find in Vegas, like world-class skiing activities and picturesque hiking trails close to your hotel. You will also find wonderful museums, art exhibits, and more.

However, if you still want to see Vegas, you have a few options. Going by car will take you close to 7 hours and 10 minutes to do the 439 miles trip, but there are a lot of things to do on the way, such as:

  • Death Valley
  • Nevada State Museum
  • Washoe Club Museum & Saloon
  • Nevada State Railroad Museum
  • Saint Mary In the Mountains
  • Tonopah Historic Mining Park
  • The International Car Forest
  • Gold Point Ghost Town
  • Ubehebe Crater
  • Scotty’s Castle
  • Mesquite Flat Sand Dunes
  • Rhyolite Ghost Town
  • Goldwell Open Air Museum
