Covering 10,000 square feet, the hotel’s Hibiscus Spa offers 15 treatment rooms, dry and wet saunas, a full salon, and an exercise facility. What to expect: After reducing a previous hotel to a shell and then rebuilding it, the Westin Casuarina opened in November 2003 as a contemporary haven for business travelers and for leisure travelers seeking off-Strip pricing with easy access to the Strip's myriad attractions.

Amenity highlights: The hotel includes a heated, year-round, 25-by-35-foot swimming pool as well as a shaded, 10-person spa tub on an expansive, second-story sundeck. The 10,000-square-foot Hibiscus Spa offers 15 treatment rooms, dry and wet saunas, a full salon, and an exercise facility.

Insider tip: Beginning about a quarter-mile from the hotel's entrance on East Flamingo Road is Las Vegas' famed Restaurant Row, consisting of a dozen widely known dining spots.

Silver Peak Grille - (pictured left) This 24-hour restaurant has booths and banquettes. Extensive breakfast buffet as well as à la carte menu. À la carte lunch menu with appetizers, salads, soups, and panini and other sandwiches. À la carte dinner menu with appetizers such as smoked salmon, Asian spring rolls, sautéed frog legs; main course options such as sesame-crusted yellowfin tuna, lamb cutlets, veal chop Milanese, lobster risotto, goat-cheese-stuffed chicken breast.

Entertainment at the Westin

The 20,000-square-foot casino offers slots, video poker, blackjack, craps, roulette, keno, three-card poker, and pai gow. Free players' club membership cards permit players to earn slot play, comps, and other rewards.

A 230-seat showroom features live entertainment nightly.

Recreation at the Westin Casuarina

The hotel includes a heated, year-round, 25-by-35-foot swimming pool as well as a shaded, 10-person spa tub on a second-story deck furnished with cushioned teak lounge chairs and shade tents.

A running track, tennis courts, and other recreational facilities are available at the University of Las Vegas, one mile away. Eight golf courses are located within five miles.

Rooms at The Westin
The hotel offers 825 guestrooms in a 17-story tower colored in three desert tones. A small, tan-marble lobby featuring caramel-colored wood trim and leather seating exemplifies the hotel's Pottery Barn-like decor. Guestrooms include soft-tone, gray-green walls and carpets, redwood-tone furniture, and upholstered armchairs.

Rooms feature Westin's signature Heavenly Beds and Heavenly Baths. Heavenly Beds consist of custom-designed, foot-thick pillowtop mattresses with all-white bedding; triple sheeting; down blankets, comforters, and duvets; and five pillows (two down/feather, two hypo-allergenic, and a decorative "boudoir" neck roll pillow).

Heavenly Baths feature dual showerheads with multiple spray options, curved shower rods for extra room, and white-on-white shower curtains, and include velour, waffle-weave bathrobes, oversized Brazilian combed-cotton bath towels, and citrus-scented Molton Brown English toiletries.

Also available are complimentary Heavenly Cribs with pillowtop mattresses, baby blankets, fitted sheets, and white rugs beneath the cribs. Pets (small pets only) are provided Heavenly Dog Beds consisting of custom-designed, oversized pillows and miniature Heavenly Bed duvets.

Three types of Internet access are available: high-speed connections on desks (surcharge), telephone data ports, and high-speed connections through 27-inch, flat-screen televisions equipped with wireless keyboards (surcharge).
