They say everything in Texas is big and this hotel is no exception. Even though there are only 200 rooms, the grounds are spread over 47 acres. Some of the more amazing things you will find at this hotel are a 60 lane bowling alley complete with a bowling store. Also there is an 18 screen movie theater. Along with all this there is a center for entertainment and concerts. Numerous bars and lounges, some with live music, are right there for your enjoyment. In the middle of it all is a gigantic casino of 125,000 square feet, plus a 236 seat sports book.

When you get hungry there are numerous excellent restaurants and buffets located in the hotel. The guest rooms have been recently redecorated, giving them a nice, bright, feeling of roominess.

What to Expect
This is a good solid 3 star reasonably priced hotel. It facilities are often used by the locals. It is clean, well run and certainly worth the money. Three things make this hotel unusual:

1- It has an award winning family restaurant, the San Lorenzo.

2- The presence of a bowling alley and an 18 screen movie theater on the hotel grounds.

3- A child friendly facility called Kids Quest.

Dining

Austins Steakhouse - Serves steak and prime rib, seafood, menu is moderately priced. Reservations should be made.



San Lorenzo - Award winning Italian restaurant featuring authentic cuisine from various parts of Italy. This is a family owned restaurant. Good, reasonably priced food and wine menu. Reservations should be made.


Texas Star Oyster Bar - All types of seafood including New Orleans Gumbo. Their signature drink is a Margarita.

 

Feast Around the World - This is a breakfast, lunch and dinner buffet. Las Vegas has a lot of buffets. This is one of the better ones.

 

Cocos - No matter what time of the day or night it is you can always eat at Cocos. They are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.




There is also a Food Court located on the grounds of the hotel where you will find these fast food restaurants: Fat Burger, Quiznos Subs, Panda Express, Sbarro, Baja Fresh, DQ Orange Julius, Starbucks (located by Feast Around the World)





Children
The Texas Station Gambling hall and Hotel is extremely child friendly. It does this through a concept known as Kids Quest. Actually it is more than just a concept, it is a self contained indoor playground designed for the little ones. Children from babies up to age 12 can enjoy Kids Quest. It is staffed by professionally trained personal. It is open day and evening. In a sense you can think of it as a high tech. baby sitting service. But it is really much more than that. The fees for using it are very moderate.

Within Kids Quest are special infant and toddler rooms. The playground has slides and interesting things to crawl and jump on. There are non violent video games and CD-ROMS/ DVDs for kids of all ages, nutritious meals (extra fee) plus arts and crafts.

Entertainment
There is no shortage of entertainment at the Texas Station Gambling Hall and Hotel. The bars and lounges are open 24 hours a day.

Dallas Events Center:
A 2000 seat entertainment venue that often features such musical stars as Merle Haggard, Charley Pride and Randy Travis.


South Padre Night Club:
Every weekend there is live free entertainment at this club.

A-Bar: Features live jazz every Friday and Saturday night.

Garage Bar: Entertainment on Thursday nights.

Martini Bar: The drinks and the décor are the entertainment.

Bowling Bar: The bar and lounge is part of the bowling lanes. It has pool tables, arcade games and a very modern décor. Karaoke on Friday nights.

Regal Cinema:

This 18 screen movie complex is on the grounds of the hotel. They feature top rated first run films. The theaters use the latest and best sound equipment that helps to create a sense of realism in the movie you are watching.

Texas Star Bowling Lanes:

60 lanes make up this award winning facility. It has all the latest gadgets and technology. Leagues, parties and individual bowlers are welcome. On weekends for limited hours they feature a new twist called cosmic bowling, which is a high tech. sound and light show that accompanies bowling.

Other Things to Do
Keep in mind that because of the uniqueness of Las Vegas you can drive for just a few miles and be hiking or horseback riding in Red Rock. As other options you may choose to go fishing, water skiing, boating or snorkeling. If you drive just a bit further you can even enjoy snow skiing.

Swimming Pool:

There is a very nice heated pool at the hotel. When you tire of swimming there are plenty of lounge chairs around the pool to rest and socialize.

Fitness Center:
The hotel has a well equipped fitness center for guests to enjoy, assuming you are the type of a guest who enjoys exercising. If you’re like the rest of us, it is still a good place to work-out.

Shopping: There is a gift shop on the hotel grounds. In addition, you are just a few miles from the Las Vegas Strip and Outlet malls.

Gaming

Everything in Texas is on a grand scale. The casino is no exception. It is 125,000 square feet of fun and games. There are 2450 slot machines which play a variety of games including video poker. The casino has 37 table games. Guests enjoy some of the best odds to be found in Las Vegas.

The Blackjack tables offer single deck, double deck or shoe. You will find table games of roulette, craps and poker and much more. There is even a separate poker room set up with eight tables.

For those who like keno or bingo there are special parlors-rooms just waiting for you.

Standard Deluxe Room:

Warm pastel colors are used to decorate the rooms. You have a choice between a king size bed or two queen size beds. There is a feeling of pleasant brightness about the room. This comes from the large fully draped windows and attractive print bed spreads. The room has a nice sitting area. It has traditional furnishing along with a sense of spaciousness. You will find the bathroom more than adequate.

You will find air conditioning with individual controls. All rooms are newly decorated and have a nice bright feeling. You will find black-out drapes. There is a coffee pot and an alarm clock radio. Each room has daily maid service, room service and valet dry cleaning service.

The hotel offers numerous meeting rooms. 1,100 guests can serviced in the Dallas Ballroom. The Houston Ballroom can handle 200 guests. It will break down into smaller areas to service less people. Two boardrooms the Austin and the Midland are available for meetings. They are elegantly appointed and will handle up to 20 people. Wedding Chapels are also available.
