  • Vegas Room Safes are not Safe!

Here is a scary video from a security expert who shows how easy it was for him to open a hotel room safe run by Caesars Palace in just minutes.

In summary, don't rely on room safes for valuables. It is better than not using it, but not by much. In Nevada, hotel room safes do carry liability insurance if something is stolen, but the maximum they will cover is only up to $750 USD. If you have something important, keep it with you, or leave it with the main safe at the front desk.

Here is another video that shows how the default code to override a lost password are often very simple to guess.

Has anyone ever had something stolen from them that was using a hotel safe?
