An early review of the Beatles LOVE appeared in the
current issue of Variety (May 29-June 4th). Below are some highlights - Over 130 Beatles songs are included First Cirque show to start with music and then develop into a story 6,305 speakers installed 2,000 seat hall Sound rains down from speakers in the ceiling First Vegas theater built surrounding the stage $25 million show Called a "Rock 'n' Roll Poem" by the shows director Costumes deliver a "Wow" factor rather than acrobatics Character driven show Theme tries to answer questions like who is the Walrus? Aimed to please Beatles fans above all Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr worked closely on the project along with the widows of John Lennon (Yoko) and George Harrison (Olivia). Show starts with the Beatles' final performance on a London rooftop playing "Get Back" and then goes to a war-torn Britain. "Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds" has a girl on a trapeze with sprinkling lights swinging over a rocking horse/person. "Octopus' Garden," featured Ringo's voice slowed down in a solo and then features the stage in sunken mode. Reviewed as "spot-on." A joke was played during a review to Paul McCartney where they played "Hey Jude" with a reggae beat at the beginning.
