Default Room Preparations

As everything gets more expensive and you still want the thrill of Vegas you can save $$$ eating in Las Vegas by loading up with snacks and eating a bit in your room. If you drive into town from California or Utah stop at the corner WalMart just west of Mesquite or on #95 at Sunset Drive in Las Vegas. Also, for cheaper booze stop at the Indian Reserve heading in I #15 from Mesquite.

If you do this you'll still have more money to lose gaming.

(thanks to LVDIVA's post for the idea)

Exclamation Re: Room Preparations

I would have to agree with Bossman!! ... My wife and I will often go grocery shopping for our week of breakfasts, lunches, sancks and booze.... we usually go to resturants and buffets for dinner. The money we saved in booze and food doing this I figure is minimum 200 bucks.... I will share our last experience shopping.... We were staying at the Flamingo, we went shopping at the Albertsons at Maryland Parkway and Flamingo.... Now.... The issue we had was... Do we rent a car or do we cab it..... We chose to cab it..... what a mistake that was! You would think getting a cab in vegas is easy..... well it is if your at the airport or any hotel.... If your in town and want a cab to a casino... you better be willing to wait! We waited 50 minutes in 114 degree weather.... Our 24 case of water we bought was an 18 case by the time we got back to the casino.... Next time we are do it we will rent a car... 34 dollar a day rental vs. 23 plus tip in cab fees and waiting and praying a cab will actually come... RENT A CAR. so to sum it all up.... is it worth shopping?? hell ya...

YOUR WELCOME BOSSMAN BREAK THE BANK IN DEC!!!!! I AGREE WITH YOU VEGAS 4 EVER IF YOU HAVE A RENTAL IT IS MUCH EASIER TO GET SNACKS AND DRINKS TO YOUR ROOM, AND IF YOU SCORE A REFRIDGEERATOR IN YOUR ROOM MORE POWER TO YOU, BUT IF YOU DONT TRY TO PACK A COLLASIBLE COOLER TO HOLD YOUR YUGURTS, DRINKS, TO KEEP COLD ALSO IF YOU DONT HAVE THAT TRY A EXTRA TRASHCAN JUST FILL THE LINER WITH ICE , I DIDNT HAVE A RENTAL BUT MY ROOM DID HAVE A REFRIDGE, AND A SHUTTLE THAT DROPED OFF AT THE STRIP, THE WALGREENS, AND THE CVS ON THE STRIP DID HAVE A WIDE SELECTION OF SNACKS, PLUS I HAD AN EXTRA PERSON TO HELP CARRY STUFF BACK, IT IS EXPENSIVE TO EAT OUT ALL THE TIME IN VEGAS AND IT DOES HAMPER ON YOUR GAMING OR SHOW BUDGET, SO IF YOU WANT TO EAT AT THE BUFFETT OR RESTERUANT OF YOUR CHIOCE , AND YOU DIDNT MAKE A KILLING AT THE TABLES OR SLOTS, SAVE SOME MONEY BUY GETTING SOME SNACKS AND DRINKS TO TIE YOU OVER

Default Re: Room Preparations

Everyone except for the December NFR trip the ladies and I drive from Alberta to southern Nevada because the airfare is double the cost of gas (at it's highest price) and 2 nights accomodation each way is the same cost. It is also most convenient for the ladies to shop daily. We carry 2 plug in coolers and one goes to the room for Insulin and other meds. When I'm alone that ice bucket works too. (and still leave a little room for other drinks)

Even now I may only eat one meal the "niteowl specials" outside my room as early hours are the best to play my game(s) That is unless I'm entertaining and saving on my food leaves more $$$ for that too.
WalMart has everything if you can get around but both Walgreens and CVS are great on the strip and downtown too for room supplies. ( ibelieve I already said that somewhere's else...so I'll shut up!
