Default Hotel Stay Comps? How Much?

How much does a person need to gamble to get a free hotel stay? Would $500 per day be enough for a 2 star hotel? How much for a place like MGM or Venetian? Thanks in advance?

That is a good source. Wow, if you can afford to play $25-$50 per hand for 8 hours, you probably don't really need the free room
However, $10 per hand for an hour might be worth a free buffet.

I like to play slots, video poker and video blackjack. The hotels make it easy to get free comps if you join their players club. The cards track all your bets and all you need to do is remember to put it in the machine. Some of them even count playing in other hotels that are owned by the same company. You might take a look at:
https://www.playersclub.com that covers all the MGM MIRAGE hotels. I would never gamble to get comps, but if you are going to gamble anyways, you should get something extra out of it. It also gives you a consolation prize in case you don't come out winning.
