I wonder about crime in Vegas. How safe are tourists? What should they do/not do to be safe?

FIRST OF ALL, YOU ARE SAFE ON THE STRIP. Not not wonder to far off the strip in the day, DO NOT GO OFF THE STRIP AT NIGHT!!!! If you have too, take a cab and ask the cabbie if it is safe where you want to go. Cool! I figured that all those casino cameras would help limit crime. I wouldn't like to leave the Strip anyways... I can't think of any need to wander off. Distances are such that a cab would be essential. Can't wait to go!
