I have came across quite a few websites that state Ellis Island has a great Steak dinner (10 oz sirloin) for $4.95 , apparently it is not on the menu, you have to ask for it. Has any one ordered this before? is it good?
Is this the kind of dinner that employee's "make it special" by tenderizing it on the kitchen floor with there boots or is it a way to get rid of old expired meat that would have gotten thrown out anyway???....or, is it simply another great Vegas deal that attracts gamblers???? please any info would be great. ![]() |

Here is the Ellis Island web page. Read and check them out and I will report back in October.
http://www.ellisislandcasino.com/ I have read and been told by different e mails that there steak offer is one of the ten best deals available for food in Las Vegas however the only opinion (in this case my taste test) is mine and hopefully one day all of you can also decide and post an opinion. |

My culinary report.
The $4.95 steak is NOT a cheap piece of meat or an illusion. It is real and well worth the $$$. Ellis Island looks like a neighborhood pub. We visited on Monday September 18th. It is located behind the strip and only a short walk from the old valet area at Ballys. The only funny thing that happened is we had to wait for over an hour because the hostess thought we wanted to be seated at a particular waiters tables. We said, "We would take anything" She wrote down we wanted Anthony!!!!! Most people got served and seated within 20-30 minutes at 6:00 PM ( not bad ) The steak, baked potato and ever changing vegetable side dish was one of the best meals I ate within the two weeks of gaming and was certainly the least expensive of any meal that I had been billed. ![]() |

I tried the steak on Friday September 29th and I agree with B/Man; very good value for the money. It compares to a cut of meat served at the Keg Restaurants but the price is much lower. There was no wait at 4:00 PM when we went.

Thank You very, very Much for your info B/M & L/L. I will be trying it for sure!!! Did you have to "ask" for the $4.95 special Like they say???? Anyway. I will be in Vegas Nov 28th to Dec. 1. Hope the line isn't too long. But it sounds like it will be worth the wait even if there is one!!!
Thanx Again!!!! ![]() |
