What websites can I find the best hotel deals? Travelocity? Priceline? Individual hotel sites?
I have never been to Vegas and would like to stay somewhere nice, but also affordable. Any recommendations would be really helpful. |

Cornell University actually did a recent study comparing many of the online hotel reservation companies. The results of who had the best deals had a lot to do with the type of hotel. For Luxury 4 and 5 star hotels, Travelocity was in general the cheapest followed by calling the hotel. For your midrange (3 star hotels), the hotel website (not calling the hotel) appeared to have the best rates. For budget hotels, the hotel websites lead followed by Orbitz and Expedia.
We (LasVegasDirect.com) were not included in this study. In most cases you will find that we are truly cheapest for all types of hotels, since we have access to many suppliers, including Travelocity, Priceline, etc., and then pick the lowest rate found. Because we are relatively small, we also get deals with smaller hotel distributors that provide extremely competitive rates. Our overhead is also much smaller and we can pass that savings on to the customer. Finally, since we are focused on Las Vegas, we find suppliers with the lowest prices for specific hotels. Good to know. When they stop giving me all my rooms comped around town I most certainly will use you. In the meantime, I will pass your name around to my friends who travel with me and still pay for accommodations.
Wow I just clicked the link and you do have a lot more information than some other booking companies. I also signed up 2 friends for your "hot deal" updates. I suggest everyone else here do the same for themselves and there friends. Last edited by Bossman : 05-08-2006 at 01:33 PM. |

The best search engine you can find is Travelaxe.com. Travelaxe searches 20+ websites at once, returning prices side-by-side including all the hotel websites directly, including other sites like expedia, orbitz etc. and will give you all of the hotels by price, reviews, location, etc. Look it up there and come back and book it at lasvegasdirect. With Travelaxe you can make the exact search that fits your budget or tastes. It will offer as much or little detail as you like. Travelaxe lists even the less than $20 a night rooms. TK
