Default TRICKS CASINOS USE TO LURE MORE GAMBLING

(Most of the following have not been officially verified if the casinos are actually doing it.)
=====
Air conditioning Going full blast to keep the gamblers awake!
--------
Baccarat Dressing up the baccarat staff and area so it makes you think you are doing something
special, just like James Bond!
-------------
Carpeting The carpeting has been designed to be confusing and chaotic. They want to draw your eyes back to the level of the machines and not the floor.
-----------
Chips Used instead of cash to make the gambling amounts less real at table games.
-------
Clocks No clocks are in the casinos to make you lose your track of time.
----------
Cocktail Waitresses Skimpy uniforms and good looking to stimulate that party atmosphere.
----
Coloring up If you're winning a lot, you can expect that the dealers will try to get you to increase your
bet. To encourage you to bet more on each hand or roll, the dealer will start paying your winnings in
larger denomination chips.
---------
Comps The longer a casino can keep you in their building, the less chance there is of you going to their competitors. A Buffet comp for one person costs the casino only $2!!!
----------
Dress Code No dress code to keep you relaxed.
---------
Drinks Free drinks to loosen you up.
----------
Mailings Casinos send out offers for discounted rooms, food, shows or free cheap giveaways (that only look expensive). They actively try to lure you into
-------
Progressive Jackpots Offers the chance to win a very large amount of money for a very small investment. It's called winning the forest with a toothpick!
--------
Restaurants and Shops Placed in such a way that you have to walk through the casino every time.
--------
Scent in the Air Different smells make the mind feel different ways. Pina Colada seems to be the favorite scent.
-------
Shills Players who are actually casino employees to stimulate play. Most people do not want to play alone. This is done a lot in baccarat.
-------
Shows and Attractions To bring people in.
------------
Slots - design Slots are colorfully designed and lighted to attract attention to them.
---------
Windows No windows to make you lose your track of time
-------
MOST IMPORTANT

One thing that turns winners into losers is the notion that once they win, they are playing with the casino's money. Once you win, it's YOUR MONEY. Don't give it back. When you get ahead take half of your winnings and put it in a different pocket. If you don't learn how to handle YOUR money, The casino will do it for you until it becomes THEIR money! It's easy to leave the casino when all your money is gone.It takes discipline to walk away when you are ahead. Discipline and control is what separates winners from losers
=========

I AM GUILTY OF THIS LAST ONE EVEN THOUGH I MODIFIED THE STATEMENT.

I SAY, " ALL THE MONEY I HAVE WON IS TO BE REPLAYED AND HAVE FUN WITH BUT THAT IT ACTUALLY BELONGS TO THE CASINO"

what I do though is any winnings per gambling session are put in the hotel safe and can't be used until a future gaming trip. I'm old, set in my ways, and this thinking has lasted me to return to gamble again for over 30 years.

I am a strong beleiver in both "loss limits" (mine are 35-50% of my buy-in) and "win limits" --(mine are 50% over my buy-in-but I won't walk away until the roll has sevened out) I will play 1-3 shooters after this increase but only to see if the next shooter repeats numbers (continues a good roll) or fails to make a point. If numbers repeat I will jump back in with a new win limit (25% higher than what I presently have gained) and a new loss limit just 10% less than my grand total.

Always leave the table a winner or a small loser. We will all have winning and losing sessions; it is what we do next that matters.

GOOD LUCK and GOOD SKILL (work habits) TO ALL
