There are also free options to get around.
1.) There is free tram that links the Bellagio and Monte Carlo on the west side. If you go further south, there is a shuttle tram that serves Excalibur, Luxor, Mandalay Bay, Four Seasons, and THEhotel. 2.) The Rio runs a free shuttle from the Rio Visitor's Center, located just south of Paris on the main Las Vegas Strip, to the Rio, about 1/2 mile west of the Strip on Flamingo Road. 3.) Another free shuttle links Barbary Coast on the NE corner of the Strip and Flamingo to the Gold Coast about a mile west. 4.) Free shuttle service exists between the Polo Towers near Aladdin to the Stratosphere which runs hourly north-bound to the Stratosphere and every half hour going south.

How to get to the downtown area from the airport
When I stay at the Golden Nugget downtown, I always rent from Thrifty.com for a $12-15 base rate. I usually have free limo service available but I like my own transportation. Vegas is easy to navigate, stay off the strip. Most roads are laid out N-S and E-W. For the week I usually end up paying around $90-130. I even scored a Midsize for $69 last year for a week. You cannot use cabs, buses or shuttles for less if you stay more than a couple of days.

I have tried Sams club, AAA codes etc. but this is the most savings you will find. Check back at Thrifty a couple of times because I have canceled and rebooked when the rates dropped at Thrifty.
