Lightbulb Las Vegas Monorail Extension

I came across this article.

http://www.lasvegassun.com/sunbin/st...566683014.html

In Short, the article talks about how the extenion to the airport will be a great addition. Here is my view, Security! ok, the number one talk these days is security. (rightfully so). The monorail currently employs a security bomb detection dog. Now, my question is this: Am I going to be allowed to take my Luggage onto the monorail to and from the airport and hotel? Are they going to ban bringing luggage on the monorail because of room restrictions or security reasons like the city buses strictly enforce! Even carrying a backpack on the monorail they search everybag right now, can you imagine the wait times of having some shmoe security guard routing through your underwear looking for a bomb. or are they going to buy explosive agent sniffing detection machines. All in all something is going to have to give to allow this project to work. No sense in extending the Monorail to the airport if your not going to allow bags on. What are everyone elses thought on this??

Post Re: Las Vegas Monorail Extension

I wasn't talking about the price of the monorail rather the extention they want to put on it... I do agree with you regarding a trip to bally's from MGM... $18.00 that is excessive. How many people was that for?? But on the flip side of that, if you were taking the monorail from MGM all the way to Hilton or Sahara, it would be a better price to take the monorail rather than a Cab. my suggestion is if you are just doing a short run like that.... try the duece bus. it is only $2.00 per way per person. I would also buy a 10 ride pass from the monorail for long trips like the MGM to Sahara senario...
