INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATIONS
Residents and visitors are invited to celebrate Independence Day with the following themed events and activities at city of Las Vegas parks, community centers and facilities. Star-Spangled 4th of July Celebration (all ages) Saturday, July 1, 10 a.m. to noon Fee: $5 per person or $15 per family includes all activities; refreshments available at additional cost. Lied Community School, 5340 West Tropical Parkway, (702) 229-5072. Enjoy face painting, carnival games, contests and crafts. Hot dogs, chips and beverages will be sold. July 4th Celebration (ages 50+) Monday, July 3, 10 a.m. Fee: $2 Dula Gymnasium, 441 East Bonanza Road, (702) 229-6307. Celebrate our great American holiday with music, entertainment and an old-fashioned barbecue with potato salad and baked beans. Free Old-Fashioned 4th of July (all ages) Monday, July 3, 6 to 8:30 p.m. Stupak Community Center, 300 West Boston Avenue, (702) 229-2488. Celebrate Independence Day with contests, music, games, food, sparklers and more. Independence Day Jubilee Monday, July 3, 6 pm James Seastrand Park, 6330 Camino Eldorado, North Las Vegas Food, entertainment, and a fireworks show by the omnipresent Grucci. Free children's activities include a 17-ton snow mountain, a giant water slide, and an obstacle course. Live music by Rolling Stones tribute band Sticky Fingers. Admission is free and people are welcome to bring picnic baskets, lawn chairs, and blankets. Red, White, and Boom Monday & Tuesday, July 3 & 4, 4 to 11 p.m. Desert Breeze Park, 8275 W. Spring Mountain Rd. Bands perform both days, fireworks at 9 p.m. on the 4th, full carnival, giant Ferris wheel, craft vendors, food and drink stalls. Fee: 1-day — $17.50 in advance ($22 day of show); 2-day — $30; kids 12 and under are free. Star-Spangled Spectacular Las Vegas Philharmonic Performance (all ages) Tuesday, July 4, 8 p.m. (gates open at 4:30 p.m.) Fee: $20 general admission; $90 VIP includes box lunch and beverages; plus $1 fee for phone purchase with credit card. Hills Park in Summerlin, Hillpointe Road west of Rampart. Annual concert of patriotic tunes followed by fireworks.
