Default Your winnings become YOUR money

People tend to forget that once you win, the money is your money. For example, a person may win $500 and proceed to put it all back in the slots with the theory that he/she is gambling with the casino's money. Not true. You just gambled with $500 of your own money.

Very good comment Linda. At the end of a gambling session all the money gambled ; my original stake plus all winnings less daily expenses are put away to a future trip. Some people think they are still winners if they only lose a pre allocatted amount. They have stated it is only the money that I would have paid elsewhere for whatever free items the casino offered to originally invite them to that casino.

Default Re: Your winnings become YOUR money - lock in your winnings

If you win money and are ahead, you can consider stashing half of it away in a place you won't have easy access (maybe give it to someone you trust), and pretend you never had it. That way, even if you lose your winnings you will lock in your winnings when you go back home.

The idea is to win the initial investment back and then play with the "CASINO's" money. We have had this as a rule for years and we go by that rule strictly each time we go to a casino. If you have a casino as your form of entertainment , get the casino to pay for it, otherwise leave if you have lost your initial amount of money. You will never have a problem.
We rarely go out to dine or dance but love a small bet. This is our entertainment and as we have become older and have a better income our budget for gambling has increased. We play roulette together but love our own slots.
The idea is to treat it as a form of pleasure, and rarely does one get something for nothing.

Every penny I take to Vegas, I view as gone before I leave home. That way I can have fun without worrying about my decreasing wallet weight.

WHEN I PLAY BLACKJACK MY FIRST GOAL IS TO MATCH MY INTIAL BET , EXAMPLE 50.00 BUCKS IF I WIN 50.00 , I PUT 50.00 IN GREEN CHIPS AND DONT TOUCH IT. NOW AM PLAYING WITH 50.00 I WON. IF THE CASINO GODS SMILE ON ME AND I WIN ANOTHER 50.00 I THEN COLOR UP TO GREEN AGAIN, SOMETIMES IT HARD BECAUSE THE DEALER WONT COLOR YOU UP UNLESS YOU ARE LEAVING, BUT I POCKET SOME CHIPS IN MY POCKET AND AS I GO TO THE RESTROOM, I SNEAK BY THE CASHIER CHANGE TO CASH IN AND GET BIG BILLS SO YOU KNOW WHAT YOU HAVEIN WINNINGS. WALK AWAY A WINNER EVEN IF ITS FIVE DOLLARS OR EVEN A DOLLAR ABOVE WHAT YOU STARTED WITH. THEN I GO SHOPPING, OR HAVE A NICE T BONE OR SEAFOOD DINNER. A SMALL FORTUNE BUT IF YOU WON, ITS A NICE COMPLIMENT TO CAP OFF A WELL DESERVED GOOD PLAY, OR CELEBRATE A JACKPOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I SAY IF YOU CAN BRING BACK WHAT YOU BROUGHT TO VEGAS IN THE FIRST PLACE, THEN YOU ALREADY WON!!!!!!!! IF YOU ARE FORTUNANTE TO BRING DOUBLE WHAT YOU BROUGHT , THEN GO TO THE BANK MAKE A WIRE TO YOUR ACCOUNT, PAY THE BILLS!!!!!!!!!!! DONT PLAY OR GIVE YOUR WINNINGS BACK TO THE CASINO, GO GET THAT FENDI BAG, OR BUY SOMETHING FOR THE KIDS AT M AND M WORLD!!!!!!!!!! TAKE THE WINNINGS AND RUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BEST OF LUCK TO ALL WHO LOVE VEGAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wink Re: Your winnings become YOUR money

I like your plan LVDIVA because it puts time between winning and reusing the money. By buying something you have at the short end a memory of a great time and at the high end you have a trinket. Two of my trinkets from casino play are my rope bracelet (that adornes my throwing hand) and my diamond horseshoe ring which either touches and cradles bigger denominational chips ($100.00 or 500.00 in the middle of my rack ) or to balance my throwing hand when I use a particular dice grip. You do have the right idea.
