Question Strip Vegas for the Rich Only???

With the Stardust(gone), Riviera, Frontier, Sahara, Tropicana, Stratoshere and Imperial Palace all sold and big reno's or demo's planned.... The only places left on the strip now that attract low to middle class people now are Casino Royale, Circus-Circus (and Slots-o-fun) and Excalibur. Seems as if the only place to go for us low rollers in the coming days is Downtown (fremont) Casinos and off strip Casinos all around the strip. Just seems to me that the Strip is becoming a place for just the Very Rich and Glamorous. The Days of the Cheap Buffet and Cheap Stay are disappearing..... What is everone else's thoughts????

Actually the downtown is stepping up to the challenge and the buffets are improving. I have enjoyed most of my time gaming on Fremont Street. The only hotel that seems to act like it doesn't belong downtown is the GN. They have gone backwards; dropped the odds on Craps, raised the room rates, and made most available comps disappear. Last year on the strip I gambled more and was tracked higher than anytime previous and yet my rating was downgraded so I do agree with your observations.

of course thats just my opinion I could be wrong!

I thought for many years you had to be a high roller to get nice rooms comped. Well boy was I wrong. I joined Harrah's total rewards about a year ago when we where in Vegas. We never gamble more than a thousand dollars for both of us during our five day visit. Now we live in Ky. about an hour from the Horseshoe hotel and casino boat in Indiana. We go there about once a month and gamble about three hundred dollars each. Well this past month we have received free room offers not only from the Horseshoe but also the Imperial Palace ,Bally's, Harrahs , and the Paris hotel in Vegas. In fact we have three days in January booked and best of all five comped days in September all at the Paris. We are in no way high rollers. I wish you luck.

silved now everyone knows the gangs "secret" stash of rooms. Rooms are not as free as they once where but nothing even me can claim to that. Total Rewards is good for the Gold and Platinum levels but diminish in comparison to risk as you climb the ladder. Stay happy with the lower tiers and I believe you will be always satisfied with their chain. Try for rooms that are any day 7 days a week and then plateau your gambling budget. It is good value but keep in mind all costs are doubled and tripled on weekends. I'm also assuming you are slot players. Let me know because I may have other hints for you.
